John Pollard

Over the last several decades, John has held leadership positions in software companies both large and small.  Most recently, John led Amazon’s Customer Reviews and Answers globally.  Prior to Amazon, he was a founder and CEO at Elemental – a creator of mobile apps/services – which was sold to Porch.com. John was also a founder and the CEO of Jott, which was sold to Nuance. He was the VP and GM of Nuance’s Voice to Text Services division.

Most recently, John led Amazon’s Customer Reviews and Answers globally.

Prior to Amazon, he was a founder and CEO at Elemental – a creator of mobile apps/services – which was sold to Porch.com. John was also a founder and the CEO of Jott, which was sold to Nuance. He was the VP and GM of Nuance’s Voice to Text Services division.

Before Jott, John was a Senior Director at Microsoft in mobile; was one of the early managers at Expedia, where he led its global expansion and started Expedia’s Corporate Travel Business Unit; and ran the international business for Microsoft’s Sidewalk – a Yelp precursor sold to Ticketmaster for $240M.

In the late eighties, John was a consultant with Cambridge Technology Group, and a program manager at Harvard’s Institute for International Development.

John received his MBA from the University of Michigan, and a BA from Kenyon College.
